MC Andrezinho Shock - "Minha Missão" (Dj Nedwyt Fox Remix)

Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Hulk are all the names of professional Brazilian soccer players.

The author's willful ignorance of soccer aside, the common thread between the previous three names is a solo appearance.

In contrast, MC Andrezinho Shock takes on a both second name and a salutation; then again, a soccer player he is not. If anything, MC Andrezinho Shock is, in some strange way, a Brazilian RiFF RAFF doppelganger. But even stranger is the selection of a seemingly obscure, nearly year old song for a remix.

Andrezinho sing's over a funk beat on "Minha Missão". The vocals are coated  a top 40 polish. No drums are heard and a single as singular as the Jules Rimet trophy carries the melody. The track feels bare if not for the penalty time heroics from the bass.

Released two days ago, the following remix was released by Nedwyt Fox. The new track runs through the original while giving it an afro-edm edge. No challenge is posed to the original beat. Instead, the beat-maker opts for a hi-hat rhythm and some drums as additional percussion. The bass is sidelined as the lack of harmony receives most of the attention in the form of an electric guitar.

A creative idea, and strong effort, over all; if nothing else, a testament to having a common language

Notable Mention: D.Edylox - "" [Paname Beats]

The second selection is a far cry from a deep cut; subtle it is not.

An ancient track by the standards of the scene, Edylox attacks the festival vibes from Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction." Playing the track faster, the beat-maker adds a fast, funana sounding hi-hat beat. A djembe in support as well. Eventually a tom appears as well

The mastering is good, but ultimately more nostalgic that anything else. A download is available nonetheless
